Bradfield College founded in 1850 by Thomas Stevens, and set in 250 acres of strikingly beautiful Berkshire countryside, Bradfield College enjoys a well-established reputation for being one of the country’s leading independent schools and one of the most prestigious colleges in Great Britain. Campus comprises lush parkland, and boasts a huge Sports Complex with indoor Tennis Centre and Swimming Pool, a 9-hole Golf Course, a Studio Theatre and an outdoor Greek style open air theatre, along with excellent modern classroom facilities. It makes this one of the best possible venues for BGE.
Bradfield is conveniently located Just 30 minutes from Heathrow airport and West London. There are eleven houses in total to accommodate students. Each House has a Matron and a Housekeeper, with responsibility for looking after the students. The College has undertaken an increasing number of developments in recent years to add to the rich portfolio of outstanding facilities. These include the Sports Complex (1994), the Garrett Library (1996), a 9-hole Golf Course (1998), indoor Tennis Centre (2000), the School of Music (2004), the Big School Studio Theatre (2008), and the Blackburn Science Centre (2010). The heart and soul of Bradfield lies in a disused chalk pit in the centre of the village. The totemic Greek Theatre, known affectionately as ‘Greeker’, was the brain child of former Headmaster Dr Herbert Gray and opened in 1890. Restored and re-opened to a packed house in May 2014 the theatre presents Greek plays and continues to be supported by Prime Ministers, poets, generals, archbishops, writers and actors.
